"My summer style is usually rock 'n' roll, but today I'm looking kinda sharp wearing this fluorescent jacket. And to mess things up a bit, I'm wearing a netted punk tank top. I got my Wonder Woman cuffs on because I always wear them. I broke my foot that's why I have the big boot, but I'm happy at least that it's black and matches my black shoes."

Claudia: "My style is very simple. I like having a pop of something like big earrings, sunglasses or a cool jacket. Actress Zoë Kravitz is a big influence of mine. I just love her. Her style is effortless. She wears distressed clothing, but it still looks good. It's homeless chic."

TorontoVerve: "What's your biggest regret in life?"

Claudia: "I guess associating myself with negative people. It's important to stay positive because positively attracts healthy people."

Alexis: "My style can be described as hippy-prairie girl."

TorontoVerve: "What's your biggest fear in life?"

Alexis: "To be erased from this Earth and be forgotten. I want to do something epic and always be remembered."

TorontoVerve: "Do you have any plans to make that happen?"

Alexis: "No, not yet (laughs), but I'm working on it. Oh, my friends and I began an Instagram account: @416Adventures. That's going to be our legacy."

"I'm into the classic 1920's jazz era. I love Gene Kelly films like Singing in the Rain. I wish I can dance like him."

Chris is a graphic designer, but his passion is cycling.

"I'm actually on my way to see a dude about getting a tattoo of a bike crank and chain. It's going to go around my neck with roses. It's in my blood."

Sam: "Vintage & Modern Flair"

"I'm a big fan of designers Alexander Wang and Philip Lim. I like Alexander's edgy style and Philip's feminine fashion."

"When I wake up in the morning, I try my best to match my appearance to what I'm feeling.  Today I'm feeling very rootsy and earthy.  Jimmy Hendrix and Bob Marley are my biggest influence."

"I do a lot of high-low dressing in vintage and trendy combined -- such as H&M, Zara, vintage or thrifted.  I'm inspired a lot by NY socialite Michelle Harper and classic film stars, Audrey Hepburn & Lillian Gish."

Jody: "Vintage Fur & Colour"

"I like to wear a lot of vintage fur and colour in the winter."

Katie's Stunning Boyish Look

"I tend to dress like a boy a lot.  Although, sometimes I'll throw on a fancy dress, scarves and sequins.  I also stay on the feminine side with lipstick.  Lately I'm inspired by the 90's minimalist look in menswear."

Natalie Boutari: Pheroine Chic

Natalie Boutari is the lead singer, song-writer and pianist for Pheroine - an alternative rock/metal band. Some of her musical influences include Korn, Deftones, U2 and Lacuna Coil.

Verve Shoot: 'Twas the Night Before Christmas: Taryn & Margo

Taryn (left) and Margo (right) are in love and their engagement sounds like a chapter out of a romance novel, but don't take my word for it.  Let them tell you themselves.

Margo: "Taryn and I met in grad school and we've been together for a little over 2 years now.  A year into our relationship, we talked about getting married, but decided to put it off until after we both finished school.  Little did I know that Taryn had plans to propose just days after our last papers -- 2 days before my 27th birthday."

Taryn: "Margo was anticipating a proposal sometime after we finished grad school, but I wanted to truly make it a surprise.  I knew she would never suspect that I would pop the question within days from finishing my thesis.  Margo thought I was only stressed about my approaching thesis deadline, but that was only part of it."

Taryn continues: "In late August 2010, with the help of both our families, Anna Sudac - a talented musician and Ryan Taylor - a gifted jeweler, I devised a sneaky proposal.  Margo thought we were just meeting my family for dinner in Cabbagetown.  On the way, she was chatty as usual and I was trying to stay composed.  We always pass by the Fair Trade Jewellery store, but on this particular day, Margo was surprised to find red rose petals strewn outside the atelier and a sign directing her inside.  

"Margo could barely make it through the door before her eyes started welling up.  I opened the single lit jewellery case where the engagement ring was displayed.  The beautiful Anna Sudac started playing Dawn Landes' Kissing Song at the front of the shop.  That was my cue to tell Margo how much I love her and ask to spend the rest of her life with me.

"Margo said YES!  But that wasn't the end of the surprise.

"Her parents (from the East Coast) and her sister (from the West Coast) had secretly flown to Toronto and were  hiding in the back.  After Margo accepted my proposal, both our families popped out and more happy tears were shed."

Taryn's style: modern and structured, mixing masculine and feminine elements.  I like pairing skinny jeans and riding style boots with a structured blazer, but I also love kicking around in Converse and a tee.

Margo's style: I tend to go for styles that are a bit more femme than Taryn, but most days I wear jeans and boots too.  I'm also a big fan of tights with cardigans, chunky jewellery and dark tortoiseshell glasses with everything.
