Rebecca

Audrey Hepburn has always been a great style icon for me. Her elegance, her grace, her class and her beauty have been inspirational. I've always looked up to her my entire life.

Liza

Liza: My style is classic/conservative with a little kick.

TorontoVerve: What's the best advice that you've received?

Liza: It's so cliché, but I think that the 'never settle' thing is really applicable for me -- especially right now in my person life. Onward and upward.

Neely

I think it's important to actively go after what you want. Don't just say you want it and do nothing to achieve it. I stress less in life about the things that I want -- like a house, a boyfriend or a job. If I'm actively moving towards my goals, I don't have to worry about it.

Hayley

Hayley: "Today I have a retro Brady Bunch look. I love their style."

TV: "What's your favourite moral lesson from the show?"

Hayley: "My favourite episode is when Peter Brady's voice is going through a certain change and they sing this musical number about going through change. The lesson was let change come when it comes."

Sidonie

Sidonie: My style is the result of a lot of traveling. It's a mix of tribal and urban.

TorontoVerve: What's the best advice you've been given in life?

Sidonie: The universe is always giving you exactly what you need. I was living in a spiritual community in the middle of the jungle in Costa Rica. That advice helped me get through the hard times. It helped me understand that this was supposed to happen. The universe always gives you exactly what you need. You may not know it at the moment, but, in time, with a little bit of perspective, everything comes together as it should.

Stephanie

Stephanie: I love patterns and colours. Anything fun and flirty. I'm very girly and I'm obsessed with shoes. I'm inspired by Blake Lively. I like how she mixes high and low. She wears expensive dresses with casual shoes or cheap dresses with high-end shoes.

TorontoVerve: What's the best advice you've received in life?

Stephanie: My grandma told me that life is too short to worry about everything. It's helped me de-stress. I don't worry about all the little things because you can't fix everything. Keeping it all in prospective is very important.

John

John: "I really try to embody 90's high school. I'm nostalgic for that childhood innocense. Socks are my thing. I own over 50 pairs of them. I think it's the easiest way to style anything up. You can be wearing the most basic stuff, but if you wear neon pink socks with hummingbirds on them, it looks great. A pop of colour is always important."

TorontoVerve: "What has surprised you the most about yourself recently?"

John: "My propensity to learn. I think when you're outside of university, you lose that curious mind. Back in school, information is forced on you, but when you go into a given career, you have to seek out information yourself. I'm impressed with my ability to adapt and learn outside of school."

Kim

"The best advice I've ever received is fake it till you make it. I actually heard that from a random old dude in a bar. He told me, 'I don't know what I'm doing. I look like I know what I'm doing, but I really don't.' So that's what I do. It's basically lying, but in a nice way."

Rachelle

Rachelle: "My style can be described as fetish, hippy and goth-health."

TorontoVerve: "What has surprised you about yourself this year so far?"

Rachelle: "I recently started doing video art curation and I'm really surprised by my ability to transfer different skillsets and evolve in what I do as an artist."

Check out Rachelle's website. "You'll find video art, collage, food and beautiful naked women."

Laural

Laural: "I would describe my style as summertime metal. I just got my haircut today, and to get inspiration for it, I googled '1980's metal hair Slayer fans' (laughs)."

TorontoVerve: "So what was the inspiration for your tattoos?"

Laural: "She (pointing to the tattoo on her left leg) is the guardian of my unconscious. She's like a dragon and just like dragons, she protects treasure, and the treasure that she protects is the depths of my vulnerability."

TorontoVerve: "And what do you need protection from?"

Laural: "Myself, probably (laughs)."

Luis

Luis: I think patterns are the best colours -- something gay to brighten up the day. I'm inspired by designer Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons. She's always inventive. She can make something ugly look beautiful.

TorontoVerve: What's your favourite memory of Summer?

Luis: The nude beach on Toronto Island. It's the best place to be in the city.

Sebastian

Sebastian: "Today it's all about the accessories, make-up, hair and vintage. I have the classic Marilyn Monroe curl and dark red lips. I'm inspired by Marilyn's face. She always had the most striking lips, eyes and iconic white hair."

TorontoVerve: "Do you have a special talent or hobby that people are unaware of?"

Sebastian: "I play piano. No one knows about that. People who know me think I'm all about the fashion industry, but I also enjoy painting, sculpture and photography. Piano is one of my first loves."

TorontoVerve: "Is there something about the fashion industry that you don't particularly like?"

Sebastian: "I think the thing that I dislike the most about the fashion industry is how exclusive they try to make it out to be. When you go to high-profile fashion events, unless you're somebody or you can prove that you're somebody, they kinda look down upon you or have this snobbish sort of attitude. So, I feel like the high fashion industry needs to be more accepting to outsiders trying to make their way in."

Sebastian

Sebastian: "My inspiration today is a 60's throwback. The chunky low secretary heels, the black tights and baggy top. It's the shapeless geometric boyish look."

TorontoVerve: "If a celebrity could play you in a movie about your life, who would it be and why?'

Sebastian: "Socialite Edie Sedgwick. I love her style. If she were alive, I'd feel like I can relate to her on an artistic perspective. Our styles are similar and I feel that we have the same body-type. She would definitely suit my character."

Gaye

"My style is eccentric and out-going. I like haute couture and do my own take on it. I look through magazines to see what's in as far as colours and lines -- then I just take it from there. If you think of Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, you can also think of me because I recreate myself like them every day."

Gaye is an author and writes about empowerment and staying young.
